Shimokitazawa Arts is pleased to present "perfect world" solo exhibition by Takuto Kadokura / 22nd century JEDI*.
Takuto Kadokura was born in Saitama pref. Japan. He graduated from Musashino Art University, College of Art and Design, Scenography, Display and Fashion Design, The Fashion Design Course. He created necklaces with motif of anime "Precure" he loves and it attracted attention on SNS while working as a pattern maker at Comme des Garçons. He loves the design and world view of "Precure" and felt like he was being reborn as progressed watching the story. His necklace of "Precure" is like an alter dedicated to it and has strong uniqueness. His other representative work is "Drawing on bulletin board" displayed on a bulletin board at his home.
The fascination of his paintings is expressing freely and the impact. There are strange-shaped flowers and humans with amazing composition and combination of colors. The unique world view captivates the viewer. You'll never forget it once see. It also have an addictive charm that makes you want to see more and see his other works.
Kadokura used to work in the fashion industry and created new clothes for runway shows twice a year. He thinks the show is like "Hyakki-Yako", Night parade of one hundred demons, in which people who have special bodies with clothes that might be cool or not walk and many people come to see and it's also "Important event that threatens everyday life." A flower base also has a similar function and flowers arranged there seem to come from a parallel world for him. Fashion and flowers are generally said to be "beautiful" and something mysterious and inseparable from "beauty" lurks there. Kadokura has a delicate sensibility that captures "something" and expresses it in his works.
What he expresses most through various works is "Freedom". "Precure" necklace is also what to wear to protect freedom for him. We're sure the viewer who sees Kadokura's unique works feel a little more "free" than before.

Artist's statement
（There's a perfect world inside the blanket, and I can't wake up because I'm sleeping as a lid to the world.）
As I thought so when I woke up in the morning, I turned off my alarm and went back to a deep sleep.
I'm the lid of the world.
Like that, I have to keep painting, though I'm not good at painting so much, for you to continue a life easily
I'm angry day and night and keep painting, so "perfect world " is maintained.
Takuto Kadokura／22nd century JEDI
Born in Saitama pref. Japan.
After graduating from Musashino Art University, Department of spatial fashion design, he worked as a patterner at Comme des Garcons, one of the most famous Japanese fashion brands in the world. His artworks have been popular on SNS as "22nd century JEDI". The accessories with the motif of animation "Precure" and drawings on his apartment bulding's bulletin board are his representative works.
