Large-scale contemporary artworks designed to capture attention on social media will be installed throughout Shimokitazawa, while many local shops will offer collaborative products and host related events.
Having attracted approximately 500,000 visitors last year, Moon Art Night Shimokitazawa is one of the area’s most popular art festivals. We hope you will enjoy the festival alongside the exhibition.

Shimokitazawa Arts is pleased to present Iyama Kei / Kadokura Takuto : For Winter.
Iyama Kei, born in Iwate Prefecture in 2001 and based in Morioka, is a promising young artist who received the Iwate Prefecture Art and Culture Award for Fine Arts in 2024. Growing up surrounded by rich natural landscapes and a culture of craftsmanship, Iyama has developed a diverse creative practice spanning painting, sculpture, embroidery and writing. Approaching people and things without distinction, Iyama continues to deepen his own practice while creating with a sense of enjoyment. His works possess a healthy strength born of his natural, unforced approach, along with great warmth and a subtle sense of melancholy.
Kadokura Takuto , born in Saitama Prefecture, graduated from Musashino Art University and subsequently worked as a pattern maker at Comme des Garçons. Under the name 22nd Century Jedi, he attracted attention on social media with works that transformed his beloved anime series Pretty Cure into necklaces. Since becoming independent, Kadokura has exhibited paintings under his own name, using motifs such as flowers, birds, cats, the human body, and automobiles to explore themes of masculinity, fashion, and ornamentation. Characterized by sophisticated compositions and vivid colors, his works combine an interior-like quality that brings color to everyday spaces with an introspective atmosphere, creating an irresistible appeal that draws viewers in. Kadokura is also scheduled to participate in VOCA 2027, to be held at The Ueno Royal Museum in March 2027, following a recommendation by Ishida Tomoko, curator at Takamatsu Art Museum.
Although their backgrounds and artistic careers are quite different, Iyama and Kadokura have deepened their friendship since meeting in Tokyo several years ago. The works born from their warm personalities and keen perspectives on the world are sure to delight and engage viewers.
Exhibition Statement
If we let our guard down, the wind will soon grow cold little by little. It is perhaps time to slowly begin preparing for winter.
We put away memories of coolness from hot summer days, preserve the things that cannot be found in winter, and bid farewell to the sunlight that will soon retreat into the distance for a while.
For Winter.

Kadokura Takuto / 22nd Century Jedi was born in Saitama Prefecture and graduated from the Department of Spatial Design, Fashion Course, Faculty of Art and Design at Musashino Art University. While working as a pattern maker at Comme des Garçons, he began creating necklaces inspired by his beloved anime series Pretty Cure, presenting them under the name 22nd Century Jedi and attracting attention on social media.
After becoming an independent artist, Kadokura began exhibiting paintings under his own name, pursuing themes of masculinity, fashion, and ornamentation through floral motifs. Using uniquely shaped plants, figures, and other subjects, he fills the canvas with sophisticated compositions and striking combinations of color, drawing viewers in with an addictive visual appeal.
